For history fans, you can explore the ruins of the 13th Century Beaulieu Abbey or be transported back to the 1700s at the maritime village of Buckler’s Hard – both less than 30 minutes from our door. Further afield, the cities of Salisbury and Winchester offer stunning Cathedrals and so much more.

There’s nothing more charming than the English seaside and there’s plenty of coastline to discover. From the beach huts on Mudeford Sands and the quay at Lymington, to yacht spotting at Hamble Point and Hythe Marina and taking a stroll along the sand in lively Bournemouth, there’s something for everyone.

Alternatively, stay inland and experience the New Forest, complete with wild ponies, deer and cows. Take in the villages of Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst and enjoy a quiet afternoon in one of the delightful tea rooms, before heading back to The Mill.

You can also make the most of The Mill’s beautiful setting, by wandering through our wonderful gardens and grounds, including our enchanting ‘Secret Garden’, full of exciting art works, sculptures and exhibits.
